Silver Buffaloberry is a native nitrogen-fixing shrub that can be used to enhance your yard or food forest. it produces edible, but sour, red berries that can be eaten fresh, or made into jams or jellies. It is dioecious so requires both male and female plants to produce fruit. Tolerates dry, alkaline soils. Thicket forming so useful for erosion control or wind breaks. Has historically been used medicinally and for dyes as well as food.
