A female cultivar that produces medium-sized orange berries that are lower in acid and milder tasting than other sea buckthorn berries. It is a Latvian variety with few thorns. Prolific producer.
The berries can be used for jams, preserves, fresh eating, and juices. The berries are considered a superfood as they contain Vitamins A, C, E, and K, as well as Omega-7, Potassium, Calcium, Phosphorous, Zinc, Magnesium, Niacin, Boron and B vitamins. Portions of the plant are also used medicinally in Europe and Asia for various ailments. The plants have the added benefit of tolerating and improving poor soils as they fix Nitrogen. They will do better in soil that has good drainage.
