Standing Ovation is a columnar saskatoon bush that has a beautiful display of white blossoms in the spring, followed by an abundance of purple-blue berries. The leaves turn orange-red in the fall for, yet another, display of vibrant colour. The tree has an upright habit and can be used instead of columnar aspen. The berries are smaller than most saskatoons, but can be used for fresh eating, baking, preserves, dried, or frozen. It prefers acidic, well-draining soil. Drought tolerant once established.

Saskatoons are slow-growing, so some fruit will be produced in 1-3 years, but it may take up to 15 years before a full crop is produced. Better fruit production if a second cultivar is nearby. Amend clay soil for best success.
