Red Mammoth produces very large (up to 2.5 cm), sweet, red raspberries on almost thornless, second year canes. It was rated first place for highest yield in growing trials in Manitoba (as much as 1 – 2 quarts per cane depending on growing conditions). Berries are highly flavoured and great for fresh eating, freezing and processing. Berries start to ripen a few weeks later than Red Bounty. Second year canes should be pruned while dormant after they bear fruit.
Note: Bare root (BR) stock is only available until May 11. Viability is not guaranteed for bare root stock that is not picked up promptly.
