Purple Sage

Sage is a perennial herb that is used to flavour poultry, stews, and as a medicinal tea. It is a compact plant that tolerates heat and is drought tolerant. Purple sage has purple-mauve leaves and delicate mauve-blue flowers. It is a natural pest and deer repellent. I have successfully over-wintered this in my garden, with occasional added snow cover, for a few winters.

Companions: cabbage, carrots, celery, cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts, rosemary, strawberries, tomatoes.
