Tecumseh is a hardy hybrid plum released by N.E. Hansen in South Dakota in 1923. He named it in honour of the celebrated Shawnee Nation Chief Tecumseh, a leader and great orator who worked for tribal unity. It produces a 2.5-3 cm plum that is deep purple with golden flesh. They are good for fresh eating and still firm enough for jams/jellies. Tecumseh is resistant to most insects and brown rot. The tree will grow upright and branch densely.
