Mount Royal Plum is a hardy, self-fertile European plum tree that blooms with white flowers in the spring followed by 4 cm diameter dark blue fruit with greenish-yellow flesh. The juicy, firm, freestone fruit are sweet and can be eaten fresh off the tree. They can also be canned or made into jelly. Will require a sheltered location and will perform best in fertile, well-draining soils with adequate moisture. Prune and train when young to maintain an open center shape for adequate air flow and to ensure all branches receive sunlight.
