English lavender, also known as Munstead lavender, is a compact, hardy lavender that grows delicate spires of heavenly-smelling lavender-coloured flowers that stand tall above the gray-green leaves. Perennial in Zone 4, but I have overwintered mine on the hill with occasional added snow cover for many years. Drought tolerant once established.
