Balsor Hardy Blackberry is the hardiest blackberry for our area. The berries, that are produced in the second year, are large, sweet and juicy - great for fresh eating, preserves, or juice. The berries ripen over an extended time period. Prefers moist, well-drained soil, but can withstand some dry soil between waterings. Light frost tolerant when established. Productive, vigorous and very thorny.

Provide protection and winter snow cover for best results. Ideally plant in front of a south facing wall. Lay canes down on the ground before winter, and cover with wood chips and keep covered with snow.
